Rolex Submariner, ref. 16800, from approx. 1984 – serial no. 844XXXX. A fine example of the Submariner 16800, the so-called "transitional reference", which marked transitions between the classic vintage models and the modern Submariners. Models combined elements from both eras – the black tritium dial and the new, technically upgraded construction with sapphire crystal and quick date adjustment. The watch is made in a 40 mm steel case with a steel bezel. The watch has a fine tritium dial with a starting "stardust" effect. The hands are in tritium and match the dial very well. The minute and hour-hand has a slight corrosion. Inside, it works automatic Rolex cal. 3035 – a chronometer-certified in-house movement with fast date change and higher frequency of 28,800 vph, which gave the watch significantly improved precision and running stability compared to its predecessor, cal. 1575.
