18 carat gold Vacheron Constantin Jumbo "222", ref. 44018 from the 1970s. Very rare and sought-after Vacheron Constantin 222 ref. 44018 jumbo from approx. 1977. Not more than 100 pieces of the reference 44018 with the jumbo-case have been produced in solid gold, and only around 20-30 of them is believed have this stunning darkgrey dial. The VC 222, is designed by Jörg Hysek, and was released in 1977 to mark the 222nd anniversary of the venerable brand's founding. This stunning watch features a darkgrey tritium dial with Maltese Cross and date function. The 18 carat gold case is a monobloc construction, similar to other watches of the era,. The integrated 18 carat gold bracelet features the hexagonal center-links and is in really good condition with no stretch. Automatic Ultra-slim Cal 1121 movement with 36 jewels, designed and manufactured by Jaeger LeCoultre as the caliber 920. JLC never used the movement in a watch of its own. The VC 222, AP Royal Oak and PP Nautilus all shared the same movement. This rare and important VC Jumbo 222 inspired today's VC Overseas models. Comes with boxes, hangtag and service center booklet.
