Rolex Explorer I, ref. 114270 – D-series, from February 2007. A well-preserved example of the classic 36 mm Rolex Explorer I. Reference 114270 was introduced in 2001 as the successor to the ref. 14270 and continued the iconic Explorer design while incorporating several important technical and aesthetic upgrades. The watch measures 36 mm and is crafted in Oystersteel with a smooth steel bezel, sapphire crystal, and the characteristic black dial featuring the famous 3-6-9 hour markers. Its clean and functional design has made the Explorer one of Rolex’s most timeless sports watches. Reference 114270 was the first 36 mm Explorer fitted with the Rolex Calibre 3130, solid end links, and a no-lug-hole case design, giving the model a more refined and modern appearance compared to its predecessor.
