Rolex Submariner, ref. 16800 – originally sold in June 1984. A fine Submariner 16800 – the so-called "transitional model" – marking the shift between classic vintage models and modern Submariner watches. These models combined elements from both eras: the matte tritium dial (without white gold hour markers) and the new, technically upgraded construction featuring a sapphire crystal and a quick-set date function. The watch features a 40 mm steel case, a matte tritium dial, a beautifully patinated bezel insert, and a sapphire crystal. Internally, it is powered by the automatic Rolex Calibre 3035 movement – a chronometer-certified in-house movement featuring a quick-set date function and a higher frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (vph), offering significantly improved precision and stability compared to its predecessor, the Calibre 1575. Supplied with the certificate, booklets, and documentation of a service performed by Rolex in 2023.
