Rolex Sea Dweller “Great White” 1665 from 1979 Rolex Sea Dweller ref. 1665 “Great White” from 1979 with serial number 6059XXX. The Great White is one of the most interesting vintage Sea Dweller references, as it marks the transition from the earlier double red dials to the clean white text that later became the standard look of the Sea Dweller line. This example has a Mark 1 dial with clear white printing, even patina and matching hands. The combination of the matte black dial, white text and warm tritium markers gives the watch exactly the look you want in a vintage Sea Dweller: functional, honest and very period correct. The case remains strong with good edges and full lugs. The watch has a T19 dome plexiglass crystal, giving it the correct vintage profile and a very different depth compared with sapphire crystal. It is fitted on a tight 93150 Oyster bracelet with 585 end links and Fliplock clasp. Inside is the Rolex Caliber 1575, an automatic movement with date display and hack seconds. A robust and proven Rolex calibre that belongs naturally in this generation of Sea Dweller. Delivered without accessories.
