Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000, ref. 16600, U-series, originally sold in March 1998. A classic Rolex Sea-Dweller, developed as a professional diving watch for use under demanding conditions. The model builds upon the Submariner design but stands apart through its increased water resistance, helium escape valve and robust construction. Reference 16600 is now a sought-after classic among enthusiasts of Rolex's professional sports watches. The watch measures 40mm and is crafted from stainless steel with a black dial and a black rotating diving bezel featuring an aluminium insert. This example features the distinctive Swiss Only dial, marked simply “SWISS” at 6 o'clock. This dial variation was used during a brief transitional period in the late 1990s and is particularly interesting to collectors. The watch is fitted with an Oyster bracelet in stainless steel.
