Rolex Explorer II, ref. 16570, X-series - originally sold in March 1993. A classic early Explorer II from the 16570 generation, continuing the model’s characteristic tool watch design in a more modern configuration. The combination of the white dial, fixed 24 hour bezel and red GMT hand has made this generation one of the most recognisable Explorer II models. The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case and a white tritium dial with contrasting black hour markers and hands. Tritium was used on this generation before the transition to Lumionva material and is an attractive detail on early examples. The fixed stainless steel 24 hour bezel is combined with the red GMT hand, while the date display at 3 o’clock features Cyclops magnification. Inside is the automatic Rolex Calibre 3185 with approximately 48 hours of power reserve. The independently adjustable local hour hand allows an additional time zone to be displayed using the 24 hour hand and fixed bezel. Comes with boxes, papers, certificate.
