Rolex Explorer II, ref. 16570, D-series. A classic Rolex Explorer II from the final generation featuring the traditional 40mm case and design that characterised the model before the introduction of the larger 216570. The Explorer II was originally developed as a functional tool watch for adventurers and cave explorers, with its 24-hour display allowing the wearer to distinguish between day and night. The watch measures 40mm and is crafted in stainless steel with a sapphire crystal and a fixed steel bezel featuring an engraved 24-hour scale. The white Polar dial features black hour markers and hands, providing clear contrast, together with the characteristic red GMT hand. The date display is positioned at 3 o’clock with a Cyclops lens. The watch is fitted with a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with folding clasp. Inside is the automatic Rolex Calibre 3185 with GMT function and independently adjustable local hour hand. The combination of the 24-hour hand and fixed bezel allows an additional time zone to be displayed. Comes with original certificate stamped without a year and 2026 service by our own watchmaker, but no other accessories.
