The reference 114270 was introduced in 2001 as the successor to the 14270, which had been in production for 12 years. This reference was the first 36 mm Explorer to feature the upgraded Cal. 3130, solid end links and a case design without lug holes – representing a significant technical and aesthetic update for the model line. The Explorer 114270 combines an iconic and functional design with a robust in-house movement, making it one of the most sought-after compact sports models from Rolex.
