Rolex Cosmograph (Daytona), ref. 6239 – circa 1966 – serial number 1463xxx. A rare vintage Rolex Cosmograph ref. 6239. Technically regarded as the first Daytona reference, although the model does not yet feature the Daytona name on the dial. This is the reference that laid the foundation for the legendary Daytona collection. The watch features a classic 37mm Rolex case with age-related signs of wear. The dial is a T Swiss T “Cosmograph” dial with some marks around the 12 and 14 o’clock markers, as well as other signs of wear. Some lume plots are missing. Inside is the manually wound Rolex Cal. 722 with 17 jewels, based on the Valjoux 72B. The watch is fitted with a riveted Oyster bracelet, stamped in the third quarter of 1962. Comes without accessories.
