Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, ref. 105.012-66 - produced in approx. 1967. A particularly interesting vintage Speedmaster from one of the most significant generations in the model’s history. Ref. 105.012 was the first Speedmaster reference to feature the Professional designation on the dial together with the asymmetric case and crown guards, a design that would become synonymous with the Moonwatch. The watch measures 42mm and is crafted in stainless steel with a Hesalite crystal. It features the correct black B2 step dial with “Close T” designation. The dial has the classic three-register chronograph layout and gives the watch its characteristic appearance from the second half of the 1960s. The correct DON, Dot Over Ninety, tachymeter bezel is preserved in very fine condition. The caseback is also the correct A4 Single Bevel variant, which together with the dial and bezel represents important details for an example of ref. 105.012-66. Inside is the legendary manually wound Omega Calibre 321 with column-wheel chronograph. Calibre 321 is the historic Speedmaster movement from this period and was used in the Speedmaster models that accompanied NASA astronauts during the Apollo missions. Comes with no accessories.
