A fantastic vintage Rolex Thin Case Double Red Sea-Dweller, ref. 1665 from 1967. This fantastic DRSD has a 176xxxx serial number, dating it to 1967, but it was not until June 6. 1973 it was sold for the first time from a Danish authorized dealer. The watch has a flawless period correct Mk2 dial, with a very pleasing and even patina , and hands that matches as one would wish. The watch has the early thin case, similar to the Submariner from that same period, and is in fine condition with nice lugs with original bevels still showing. The crownguards is in equally fine condition. The watch sits on a folded 9315 bracelet, with 285 end links and a clasp stamped K6 = June 1986. The diving extension is stamped "pateted" Serial and reference numbers between the lugs, remain clear and fully readable. The original caseback - besides plenty of watchmaker engravings - of course also has the last 3 digits of the serial number engraved. The fat font insert has faded to a beautiful brown hue.
